  • Bollywood stars talk about their upcoming flick 'Ru-Ba-Ru' in Mumbai

    Mumbai, Sept 4 ANI: Actors of upcoming Bollywood flick, Ru-Ba-Ru, a romantic thriller revolving around live-in relationships, talk about the movie in Mumbai on Wednesday.The film is made under the banner of Percept Picture Company.Arjun Bali is making his debut as a director with this film that stars Randeep Hooda, Shahana Goswami, Rati Agnihotri, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Jayant Kriplani.'Ru-Ba-Ru' is a modern day story of two ambitious individuals who are finding there destiny through the greatest human manifestation- love.Elaborating the story of the film, the actress Shahana Goswami said, "The film is about the live-in relationship between the people who are living away from their homes it is also about the fact that when you love someone and you have been in a relationship for two years you start taking the other partner for granted. By not expressing how much you love them or how much you feel for them you tend to loose them."Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda spoke at length about his role in the film."In the film Ru-Ba-Ru I'm playing the love interest of the leading lady Shahana Goswami whose last film Rock On, won her great reviews. Some critics have praised her acting skills and it was great working with her," said Randeep Hooda.The duo of Satyadev Barman and Samirrudin has composed the music of the film, while the lyrics have been penned by Shuja Haider, Soumik Sen, Aditya Narayan, Arjun Chandramohan Bali and Akshay Verma.A plethora of singers like Shuja Haider, Ranjit Barot, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kunal Ganjawala, Vijay Prakash, Suzanne D' Mello and Shreya Ghosal have lent their voice to the songs of the film.The film 'Ru-Ba-Ru' is slated for September 12 release.   • Bollywood film 'Tahaan' all set to hit theaters

    Mumbai, Sept 3 ANI: Bollywood film 'Tahaan', which is a fable about an eight-year-old boy 'Tahaan' and his donkey, is all set to hit theaters on Friday. The film shot extensively in the picturesque town Pahalgam in Kashmir.The makers of the film said that 'Tahaan' does not directly depict militancy or violence in the region, but deals with these issues from the point of view of its eight-year-old protagonist, Tahaan, who embarks on a quest to bring back his donkey 'Birbal' after it is sold to repay a loan.The boy's journey across the snowy landscape is fraught with danger, including an encounter with a teenager who promises to help him get the donkey -- but only if Tahaan carries a grenade and a package to the other side of the mountains.Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, who is part of the movie, said that he is sure that the cinemagoers having taste for good films will appreciate the film. "It is good film and the audience will enjoy. I wouldn't like to comment on its commercial success or viability, but people who appreciate good films will enjoy it for sure," said Anupam Kher.Besides Anupam Kher, director Santosh Sivan's film stars Purav Bhandare, Rahul Bose, Sarika, Victor Banerjee and Rahul Khanna. Rahul Bose described the film as a world-class movie and felt proud to be associated with it. "I think audience will get a nice feeling by the end of this film that they have seen something that is excellent. It's a world cinema film and international film made from India," said Rahul Bose.The film is produced under the banner of 'I Dream Productions'. ANI

Vilas Muttemwar, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy delivered a special address along with Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and Dr. R.K. Pachauri, Director-General of TERI, who joined the dais for a special address to the 2500 school children present with teachers and civil society think tanks at National Bal Bhawan, Kotla road. Muttemwar said in his address, "Akshay Urja began in 2004 with the agenda to address the National problem of energy crisis and we believe that the children present here today, are going to play a key role to propagate this programme. India is blessed with solar energy and if harnessed efficiently, we are capable of producing electricity around 5 trillion-kilo watts. I feel that Akshya Urja will help in the development of the nation and thank all the children across India who have participated in various competitions and have supported our campaign." Dikshit said, "Rajiv Gandhi Akshay Urja Diwas encourages the future, our students present here to propagate the message of judicial use of electricity and promoting the increasing use of renewable sources for leading an eco- friendly lifestyle."Cheering the children, Pachauri said, "The future of our country and the world is in children's hands. Akshay Urjay defines the future of human race for creating world's future in energy. Due to the abundant solar energy available to us, India has a great potential in utilizing renewable sources and is extremely beneficial as its non-polluting and its generation can be decentralized. We need to come together and take initiatives to create technologies for a greater use of these sources to combat climate change by reducing green house gases."A weeklong series of activities were organized by TERI in consonance with school children from all over the National Capital Territory based on a common theme, 'Akshay Urja Se Desh Vikas, Gaon Gaon Bijli, Ghar Ghar Prakash'. The activities under Inter school competitions ranged from model making, slogan writing and banner painting. On the other hand, skit and Debate competition were organised under the Inter college category. A Signature Campaign on the occasion was also commenced. More than 2500 students from Public, Private and Government schools of Delhi participated at the event. The function concluded by an Akshay Urja pledge to the students to avoid excessive consumption of energy derived from conventional sources and to follow the path of renewable energy administered by the Guests of Honour.All the participants received certificates from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of IndiaTERI has already treaded in the path of proliferating renewable through its 'Lighting a Billion Lives Campaign' LaBL, that has experienced enormous support from the corporate, and stalwarts such as Amitabh Bachchan and government heads like the President of Maldives, Gayoom.
